Virtual 10k Running Events New York

New York is a state with a wide variety of terrain built for running, especially for the Race the USA Virtual Run Series. Whether you choose to run a 5K through the streets of New York City or along the shores of one of the beautiful Finger Lakes, you are guaranteed to have unforgettable scenery. The state includes beaches on the Atlantic Ocean in Montauk and Fire Island as well as those along Lake Erie and Lake Ontario where runners can enjoy the view of Sunset Bay and the greenery of the Salmon River.

One of the most beautiful areas of New York is the Finger Lakes region. Here, freshwater lakes are surrounded by eye-popping landscapes. The lakes were formed by ancient glaciers that also left behind rich soil now used to grow delicious wine grapes. After a speedy 5K run in New York, why not stop at one or more of the wineries to taste their offerings? This region is also loaded with hiking trails that can easily become 5K routes with some of the most beautiful located within the state parks that dot the area - especially in the gorgeous Watkins Glen area.

Of course, if you are in New York City, one of the best places to run is the iconic Central Park. There are several loops ranging between 1.7 and 6.1 miles. Runners in New York City love to cross Brooklyn Bridge, simply because of the noise their feet make striking the wooden slats. There are also favorite routes through Manhattan and Battery Park because of tall buildings and the structures in the bay.

Finally, if you prefer more hills and valleys, then the Catskills are a perfect place for your 5K run in New York adventures. The tree-lined running trails in the Catskills and Adirondacks include panoramic views of lakes, waterfalls, rustic homes, and wildlife. The air is clean and the trails are exquisitely kept.

The routes in New York are perfect choices for the Race the USA Virtual 10K Run Series.
